Which is More Important? Price or Taste?

Category listing in Wine, Womens Lifestyle

This is a wine question I hear often. Which is more important – price or taste?

Wine appreciators want to purchase wine that tastes good. As I have stated before in articles, wine is an opinion. When you find a wine you enjoy then it is good wine for you. It’s that simple! I my wine life have purchased some expensive wine that I have been really disappointed in. On the other hand I have bought some of the new world wines from Austrailia that I have been very pleased with or even surprised at the quality.

I enjoy my favorite value wines during the week but serve a little better wine for weekend guests. Luckly there are a lot of acceptable wines out there the won’t break the bank.

Many wines that I pour and work for me have been in the $7-$8 area. I just pour and say “try this little wine and let me know what you think.” Once you have a favorite wine or two stash a couple of bottles away for surprised company.

When buying wine for guests a friend of mine has a good system. She pours a decent bottle of expensive wine first. She then opens a less expensive but nice wine for the rest of the evening. I have always enjoyed the wine and it works for me!

When purchasing wine you will need some basic wine information… … … …

Some basic knowledge about wine helps.
Knowing some of the wine words and terms.
Knowing which food will be served. Is the food spicy hot or more on the subtle side? Vegetarian dish or meat and potatoes? Fish, sushi or spaghetti? The type of appetizers served?
Does the guest or guests drink red or white wine.
Are they the type that drink and talk about wine often?

WINE PURCHASE TIP: When I am not sure I check out a Wine and Food Pairing Chart before I purchase wine. Know what type of wines are suggested to pair with the food I want to serve starts me in the right direction.

If you are new to wine there is a great little site out there that is perfect for you.

It is easy to understand info for the wine novice. Check out the free wine purchase here. Don’t be in a hurry because you need to read some pages to bring you up to speed..

No Respectable Wine Shop to Buy At?

You can use the Internet to buy and save on wine. Buying wine online is not difficult. My favorite online shop to purchase wine is MyWinesDirect

I use this wine shop because there is no shipping costs. The free shipping works in wine increments of six bottles. ( mix & match 6 – 12 or 18). For me it is not a big problem because I buy a full case at a time.

They have a great group of wine experts that find wines from small vineyards which I love. I don’t know where they find these vineyards but the wine is always pleasing to the palate. The online wines come with wine descriptions and notes from the wine maker.
Check out the wine specials and of course wines under $15.

Salut!!!!

Your Family!
