Woodworking is a great hobby. A hobby that also brings me great joy. My father was a carpenter, and so was his father. I, working in transportation, did not completely follow in their footsteps but I did somehow continue the family tradition. Sometimes my daughter joins me while I do woodworking and I can feel that I am passing something on to her.
In the beginning, I made small souvenirs (flowers and animals) and later moved on to wooden picture frames. Currently, I make wooden cups, eating utensils and wooden jewelry. Everything I do is unique, from the idea to the product. I don not often use woodworking plans although I know they can be very useful.
Often, I work with scraps or moldy, decomposing wood. It gives a completely different feel each time and can produce colors that regular wood can’t. Most often I work with pine, oak, birch and, when I manage to get my hands on it – olive. There is no great profit in this but it gives me great pleasure.
