Many people have increased pinched nerve in shoulder blade and neck pain from doing something as simple as typing out a letter to a friend at their computer. The reason for this is simple: they aren’t sitting ergonomically correct so extra strain is put on muscles. It would be quite beneficial for people that experience this type of pain to adjust their computer monitor and keyboard so they can sit and type in a manner that doesn’t irritate the neck, shoulders, back, wrists, etc…

One key thing to do to avoid this type of pain is to make sure that the computer monitor is directly in front of you at eye level so that you don’t have to move the head in an awkward position to see what you’re typing. With the monitor straight in front, the neck doesn’t have to twist to view the screen. Using a neck pillow behind the head can also be beneficial.
